Description
Two people, one smartphone, clear audio—no problem: the Boya BY-2MD is a dual-lav mic system that lets you mic up two participants for on-camera interviews recorded directly to compatible iOS devices. Both capsules plug into one Lightning cable, with enough slack to position the talents in front of the camera in a comfortable manner. Simply plug the mics into the supplied cable, and plug the cable into your compatible iOS device.
The mics themselves are omnidirectional, giving the talents a certain amount of leeway when it comes to placement. A carrying pouch, two foam windscreens, two lapel clips, and a Lightning adapter cable are included. When you have a need for it, the cable detaches from the microphone, leaving you with a 3.5mm TRS to Lightning adapter for your favorite compatible devices.
Easy to Use
The 19.7' cable offers a generous amount of room for two people to be positioned on camera. The included foam windscreens ensure you and your interviewee won't pick up plosives. The package includes foam windscreens, lapel clips, and a carrying case.
Omnidirectional for Easy Placement
These electret-condenser mics offer a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound from all around the microphone, giving you more consistent levels, even if you turn away from the capsule somewhat. The mic picks up 44.1/48 kHz sample rate, at either 16- or 24-bit, which is considered high quality.
