The cannon battery grip BG-E7 works as optional battery grip designed specifically for EOS 7D. It gives user open choice for one or two LP-E6 battery packs. Using two packs enhances the battery life as compared to using one LP-E6 pack in-camera. It is helpful when you are using a camera in those modes which consume more battery like in movie mode etc. The BG-E6 provides vertical shooting controls which can be independently turned off or on as by photographer needs.
